Food Web in the Temperate Forest with the Silver Fox
What would happen if a Toxin was introduced to this enviornment?
If a toxic chemical were to be introduced to my enviornment it would affect each and eveyr single thing. It would make things either over populate or die off. My animal would be affected by this because it would have as much biomass as it usually would. It wouldn't have as much biomass because it wouldn't be eating its usual diet and getting all the enerrgy it needs. The reason why it wouldn't be able to eat its normal diet is because bioaccumulation is going on in the things that it eats. All the things it eats are gathering chemicals within them, which will transfer to the Silver Fox. When the Silver Fox eats these animals, plants, or insects that now have chemicals in them, it will transfer over to them. They will build up overtime from animal to animal and the Silver fox may get some of the blow to it. When the chemicals multiply after an organism eats another one, it's known as biomagnification. Depending on how many toxins are in the Silver Fox at the time, it could still live. If it does live it could pass on some of those toxins to it's children.

What would happen if the Fern died out?
If the fern were to die out in this food web, a lot of animals would have to change their diet, or eating habits. They would slowly lose their energy or biomass and would get weak, slowly dying. If the animals that usually eat the fern start dying then it would be bad for the tertiary animals or the apex predator because some of them eat those animals that are dying because they aren't getting their normal diet in. Also, there would be overpopulation of some other plants that aren't being ate because the animals are dying off slowly one by one.
